Dr. Hetal Sojitra did her B.S. in Physical therapy from M.S. University in India. She further studied in U.S. and got her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Utica College. She has been practicing as a Physical Therapist for over 10 years in US. She has vast of experience working as a physical therapist in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and outpatient clinics. She has been working in outpatient setting for last 8 years. She has treated patients with all different kinds of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, post -surgical, orthopedic, and sports injuries. Dr. Sojitra uses Mackenzie approach in her treatments to benefit the patients with spine disorders. Also, she uses Maitland spinal mobilization and other manual therapy techniques. She continues to help patients heal and achieve their goals of lifelong wellness. She has great communication skills to make patients at ease. She always keeps herself educated in her field by attending seminars, events, and certifying herself. She takes pride in giving the most current up to date and evidence based care to all her patients. She holds licenses in New York and New Jersey.
I have worked with physical therapist Hetal on her previous work at Dutch Hill Road in Orangeburg, NY. When I arrived I was in a cast from a broken patella and could not bend my leg. It was so difficult for me to see the possibility that I would ever bend it. The pain was so excruciating. It was difficult at best to perform the exercises that Hetal gently asked me to do. She is compassionate, encouraging. She kept on telling me when I doubted, that I will soon be able to bend it. Slowly as I worked with her encouragement and sometimes even pushing me more than I wanted to pursue, I started to see the kneecap bending. Today on May 3rd, I can walk without a cane, a walker or crutches. I am going up and down stairs, albeit, very slowly but I could not have reached my potential today without my PT, Hetal. I feel that I am getting my life back slowly. She has become someone that I can even call a friend, someone that I am very fond of.
